“The cloud” is just a computer in someone else’s building. The real question isn’t whether to use it — it’s which kind, for which job, at which cost.

Think about where you choose to keep your business. You can own the building outright (on-premises) which gives you full control, but you pay for the roof, the boiler, the security and the repairs whether you’re busy or not. Or you can rent space in a serviced building (public cloud — Azure, AWS) which is flexible, with someone else handling the plumbing, but the bills can climb fast and you’re sharing the building with thousands of others.
