Oakley Hall Park is an independent Georgian country manor house hotel which is host to 50 luxury rooms.
The business challenge for the hotel was to provide consistent wireless coverage throughout the premises, both inside and outside of the building. Adding to this challenge, Oakley Hall is a Grade II listed building which was built in 1795.
The structure of the property is not RF friendly, wireless signals have an extremely hard time penetrating the thick walls. Also, in order to preserve the classic look, feel and ambience, unsightly wireless devices would need to be hidden away from sight.
Taran Microsystems Solution:
After a series of meetings, Taran Microsystems were successfully awarded the contract to install a secure fully managed HP wireless network, the installation was to be planned in two stages.
Stage one was to remove an existing Meru wireless solution, replacing with a HP Procurve Management Console and fifteen access points. These were all strategically placed for optimal coverage, more importantly they needed to be concealed. The second stage was to coincide with the completion of the newly refurbished hotel wing, where another fifteen access points were fitted.
Since installing our HP wireless solution, customer satisfaction has been realised. Feedback on major travel sites such as TripAdvisor provides consistently high scores.
Oakley Hall have also successfully implemented Vital WiFi, a captive guest portal hotspot software, which provides non-intrusive personalised real-time communication and advertisements via social media, email or text message. Whilst providing valuable customer analytics back to the hotel marketing team for targeted advertisements.
